We all deserve belonging, the comfort of being welcomed, recognised and accepted as we are by our community.
But for the thousands of Queenslanders who are facing homelessness, that sense of belonging can feel impossible to find.
Every night, Rosies volunteers show up offering more than just a cuppa. They offer a conversation, a listening ear, a smile, or just simple reassurance that someone cares enough to stop, sit down, and be fully present.
But with the fastest growing rate of homelessness in Australia, we must turn to your support to ensure we can keep our nightly outreach running across Queensland.
Your donation helps keep our vans fuelled, our kettles boiling, and belonging within reach for Queenslanders who need it most.
Rick experienced so much hardship.
But today he brings hope to others through music.
Rick once worked in a homeless shelter, never imagining he would one day find himself needing the same support.
But a house fire took everything he owned in 2015.
Years later he moved interstate to escape a DV relationship. He was living in his car for more than two years when tragedy struck again. Rick swerved to avoid two young men riding scooters. Choosing to hit a tree rather than risk another’s life.
Rick survived, but his car, his home, was once again destroyed.
Then rick found rosies...
Beyond the warm drinks and the hot meals, Rosies gave Rick something he desperately needed, more than any temporary comforts:
A place to belong.
Now, despite all that he’s been through, Rick gives back in what ways he can. A talented musician, Rick’s music can often be heard drifting across the crowd at our outreach in Surfers Paradise, lighting up faces with each note.
He’s even written an original song dedicated to Rosies and its volunteers which you can listen to here!

Why does Rosies need support from the community?
As a registered charity, Rosies relies on public support to continue operating.
95% of our funds come from the generosity of people in the community just like you.
The remaining 5% comes from government grants and corporate partnerships, however these are never guaranteed year-to-year, and we remain dependent on charitable gifts to make up the bulk of our income.
Where do my donation dollars go?
Your donation will always go to where it's needed most.
This can include keeping our vans fuelled and stocked for nightly outreach, supporting our volunteers and staff and many other programs at Rosies.
All donations help create a place to belong for our friends on the street.
What is the difference between giving once or monthly?
All donations contribute to our mission.
One-off donations will help us be there for Queenslanders experiencing homelessness this spring.
Monthly donations provide the reliable, long-term funding needed to continue creating moments of connection throughout the year.
